I am a music specialist and the music I write is original, tested on children and for the less confident teacher. My aim is to provide you with everything you need to fulfil Topic requirements and those of the National Curriculum (without having to prepare anything.) I provide Power Points/videos and give you mp3s and lyrics. Notation is sometimes given. The instrumental parts are dead easy!

I have used these resources after reading the book "Lost and found" by Oliver Jeffers. The film is edited highlights of the way a penguin moves. I wrote the music to follow those movements. The children can add instruments to it for added effect( e.g. A guiro (scraper) I have put more resources in the premium section, (an animated song with instrumental parts for the non specialist and an art worksheet. These all fit with the Friendship/Sea theme. https://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/a-song-about-friendship-with-percussion-parts-non-specialist-11059683

This song can be used at Easter or any time of the year for children from 5 to 7. The song starts off with 10 eggs and one by one they are taken by an animal until there is one left which is eaten by a child. The resource includes 1. An animated PowerPoint of the song with worksheets at the end 2. A backing track and a vocal track. 3. The lyrics 4 The video 5. 3 differentiated maths/art worksheets about the song (for younger students) PDF and word Children like to line up and play the part of an animal pouncing on the chocolate egg. For best results, blow worksheet to A3 and have 2 to 3 children working on it. The song is useful to use in performances because it lends itself to colourful masks and action. It can be a starting point for the question “Why do we celebrate Easter with chocolate eggs?”

A song based on Beep beep Ima sheep. Non specialist friendly. PPT, mp3s, teaching material, notation

This is a nonsense song about animals having identity problems. The sheep thinks that she’s a car and the cow thinks that she’s a dog. There are parts for the untuned instruments to play along with the melody. I got the idea from the tune Beep beep Ima sheep . I asked LiDeuce Deuce, the composer if I could use the words of the title in my song . Normally I would sell my original songs but I promised LiDeuce Deuce (Tod Bryanton ) that I wouldn’t , hence this freebie. Key stage 1 Pupils should be taught to: • use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes • play tuned and untuned instruments musically • listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music •experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the inter-related dimensions of music. Included in pack PPT of the animated song with music (Video on YouTube ) Follow up ideas Melody and chords notation A chime bar part notation Chime bar parts pictures Backing track without chime bars Backing with chime bars Vocals

A PowerPoint presentation of the song should you prefer this to video. 2. A melody line 3. A vocals mp3 4. A backing mp3 5. A video of the song with very clear lyrics. 6. Lyrics

The setting is in a flying saucer. An alien looks down on the multi-tasking feats of a young mother and ponders. It’s also a starter for an art piece “What would the alien look like”? Musicians have an opportunity to play the riff which is for more advanced pupils but there is percussion for those less confident . In the pack 1. Animated PowerPoint of the song 2. Lyrics 3. 2 mp3s vocal and backing 4. Print out of riff 5. Video of the song

The resource enables you to teach the National Anthem and use a backing track for your final performance. It has music for ocarinas but this is not necessary. This resource contains 1. A PPT with inbuilt mp3 s (vocals, vocals and backing etc.) , lyrics to enable teaching 2. A PPT asking “ What is an Anthem “ 3. Three mp3s vocals, ocarina and backing , backing alone 4. Sheet music with the tune on for ocarinas, recorders or tuned instruments. A video of the song N.B Last few notes cannot be played on a D ocarina so I have put other notes instead.

Ladybird, ladybird fly away home. Song and simple percussion in Video / PPT, teaching notes

Children find it easy to sing this old nursery rhyme. It's useful in a mini beast topic. They can also join in with simple percussion using a tambourine and a shaker (maraca). We acted the part of the farmer shooing away the ladybirds before he set fire to the rubble. Then we put baby Ann in a safe place (Under the frying pan) In this resource you will find • A PowerPoint with the song and teaching notes. • The lyrics • A vocal track and a backing track • A video of the song

A song about the seasons . Each verse a different season. The video has words and prompts for percussion instruments. If you haven't got a bird warbler, children love a small keyboard (some have pre-programmed chirps) or, you could use a cuckoo sound (G and a lower E.) It’s a useful song for all seasons of the year. Preview song (with different illustrations ) https://youtu.be/ZcXI1JCpDxs In the resource pack you will find - 1.A worksheet. Children draw a representative image from the song for each season 2.A video of the song 3. separate lyrics 4.A PPT of the song with follow up idea at the end and a link to listening music. 5 A backing track and a vocal track

How to play some notes 6 Mary and angel melody and guitar 7 As above in Sibelius 8 Mary and the angel resources list.
